Sinecure Industries Donates $200 to Haiti Victims
More than 150 developers have participated and preliminary reports put the total donations at over $30,000, a monumental feat for such a quick setup. We here at Sinecure Industries jumped on the opportunity to participate in such a cause.
Haiti continues to struggle in the aftermath of their second earthquake and is in dire need of aid. It is because of this that Justin Williams at Second Gear Software rounded up as many developers as he could and started Indie Relief in an effort to bring developers and consumers together to offer products in exchange for a donation. Sinecure Industries has pledged to give 100% of our sales dollars, throwing in the portion that would be taken by Apple as well, for our app How Am I Feeling?
More than 150 developers have participated and preliminary reports put the total donations at over $30,000, a monumental feat for such a quick setup. We here at Sinecure Industries jumped on the opportunity to participate in such a cause. We’ve even decided to take it a step further, and for the entire week of 1/18 - 1/25 we will continue to donate 100% of our sales, along with over two dozen other developers, at another website called App Relief. We’ll have an updated total next week with our total sales from both efforts!
I am very proud of the developer community for banding together in this way and happy that we can offer our products up for a worthy cause. The money raised by this will go a long way and Sinecure Industries is happy to be a part of it. We did not sell $150 worth of apps but are instead matching the sales that we did make, dollar for dollar, out of our own pockets. We thank those that bought our app, and for doing what they could. We’re still offering up sales for the remainder of the week but we encourage people to donate directly to organizations like The Red Cross and Doctors Without Borders.
